Eligibility Criteria for IIT BHU PhD 2026

Eligibility varies by department and category. General requirements include:

• Master’s Degree (M.Tech/M.E./M.Pharm/M.S.): Minimum CGPA/CPI >7.0 (on 10.0 scale) or equivalent.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering: Minimum 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (or 70%/7.0 CPI with 2+ years experience from central govt. funded institutions).

• Master’s in Science: Minimum 65% or 6.5 CPI at Master’s + 60% or 6.0 CPI at Bachelor’s level.

• 5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

• Valid GATE/GPAT/NET qualification is generally required for Full-Time Regular category with Institute Assistantship.

• High CPI (8.0+) candidates from premier institutions (IITs etc.) may get exemptions or direct interview.
