NIT Sikkim Faculty Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details 

Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualifications and experience are governed by Schedule ‘E’ of the NIT Statute.

• Engineering Disciplines: Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with a First Class in preceding degrees (B.Tech/B.E. and M.Tech/M.E.). Direct Ph.D. holders after B.E./B.Tech are eligible if they obtained First Class at the Bachelor’s level.
• Basic Sciences: Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with a First Class in preceding degrees (B.Sc. and M.Sc.).
• In-breeding Clause: Candidates who obtained their Ph.D. from NIT Sikkim will not be considered unless there is a 3-year gap between the Ph.D. award and the application deadline.

Application Fees

Fees must be paid online only via the gateway provided on the institute website.

• UR / OBC / EWS: ₹1500.
• Women / SC / ST / PwD: ₹750.

Selection Process

The selection involves multiple stages:

• Scrutiny and shortlisting based on credit point scores and academic/research performance.
• A written test and/or presentation.
• A final personal interview before the Selection Committee.
• Note: Candidates must appear in person; no TA/DA will be provided.
