The Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) Recruitment 2026 notification released for 27 posts of Junior Engineer, School Teacher and More Vacancies on 10 April 2026. Candidates with B.Ed, B.Sc, Diploma, Any Masters Degree Can Apply offline. The Online application process for CLW Recruitment 2026 has started on 10-04-2026 and will remain open until 08-05-2026. The 17 PGT vacancies are distributed subject-wise as follows. Note: Community distribution applies in entirety and not subject-wise – appointment against each community will be on merit irrespective of teaching subject.

CLW GDCE 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply

• The applicant must be a regular employee of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), including Dankuni Locomotive Works (DLW), HWII Stores Office, and Inspection Cells at Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, and any other unit under the administrative control of CLW.
• The applicant must be working substantively in a grade below the notified grade to which he/she wishes to apply. For JE (Works), staff must be working up to and including Pay Level-5. For JE (P-Way) – a safety post – staff working regularly up to and including Pay Level-6 are eligible (Ref. para 19 of Master Circular 69/2024).
• RPF/RPSF staff are NOT eligible to apply against GDCE vacancies.

Age Limit 

Educational Qualification

Since GDCE is conducted against DRQ (Direct Recruitment Quota) vacancies, the educational qualification required is the same as for direct recruitment conducted by RRBs.

CLW GDCE 2026 – Application Fee

Application Fee: NIL – No application fee is required for any category of candidates.

CLW GDCE 2026 – Scheme of Examination 

There shall be a single stage CBT (Computer Based Test) / TBT (Tablet Based Test) for all the notified posts. The exam is tentatively scheduled for May or June 2026. Exact dates will be notified in due course.

For JE (Works), JE (P-Way) & DMS

150 MCQ | 1 mark each | Negative marking: 1/3 per wrong answer
Duration: 120 minutes
Syllabus: General Awareness, Physics, Chemistry, Basics of Computers, Basics of Environment & Pollution Control, and Technical (discipline-specific) abilities (100 questions)

For School Teachers (PGT)

100 MCQ | 1 mark each | Negative marking: 1/3 per wrong answer
Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD with Scribe)
Syllabus: General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Mathematics, General Science, and Professional Ability (50 questions)

For Teachers: After the written exam, shortlisted candidates will appear for a second stage Teaching Skill Test of 100 marks, evaluated by a nominated committee on communication skill, presentation skill, and problem-solving ability. Written test and Teaching Skill Test will have a weightage ratio of 85:15 for the final merit list. There is no Supplementary Test for absent candidates.

How to Apply for CLW GDCE 2026

This is an offline application process meant exclusively for regular CLW employees. There is no online application portal.

1. Download Application Format: Obtain the application form in Annexure-C format as enclosed with this notification (GDCE 01/2026 dated 10.04.2026). Affix one recent self-attested photograph in the space provided.

2. Fill the Application Form: Enter all details accurately – Name (in capitals), Date of Birth, Age as on 09.04.2026, Designation & Ticket No., HRMS ID & Employee No., Date of initial appointment & grade, Educational Qualification, Date of appointment to present grade, Post(s) applied for, Community (UR/SC/ST/OBC), PwBD status, Mobile number, and Email address.

3. Get Controlling Authority Signature: The completed application must be forwarded by the controlling authority – obtain the signature of the controlling supervisor with designation, and the counter signature of the controlling officer with office seal. The Establishment Officer must also certify the particulars from the Service Book.

4. Attach Required Documents: Enclose self-attested copies of educational qualification certificates, category certificate (SC/ST/OBC), PwBD certificate (if applicable), and any other relevant documents.

5. Drop Application in Drop Box: Submit the filled and forwarded application by dropping it in the Drop Box at the Recruitment Section, Personnel Department, Administrative Building, Chittaranjan – 713331 by 08 May 2026 (17:30 hrs). No application will be accepted after the deadline under any circumstances.
