HPCET Application Form 2026 is now open on the official portal of Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU), Hamirpur. The online application window opened on 13 March 2026 and will remain active until 19 April 2026. HPCET 2026 (Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test) is conducted for admissions to B.Tech, B.Pharmacy, MCA, MBA, MBA (T&HM), B.Sc. (HM&CT)/BHMCT, M.Sc. Physics and M.Sc. Environmental Sciences courses offered by HPTU and its affiliated colleges for academic session 2026-27.

HPCET 2026 – Application Fee/ Entrance Test Fee
The application fee must be paid online during form submission. Fee once paid is non-refundable. In case of multiple payments against the same form, a refund can be requested via the fee refund form available on HPTU website (Examination → Download Forms → Examination/Reevaluation fee refund form); processing may take about one month.
How to Apply for HPCET 2026 – Step-by-Step Guide
Applications are accepted only in online mode via the HPTU official website. Follow the steps below carefully to fill the HPCET 2026 application form without errors:
- Visit the official HPTU website www.himtu.ac.in and navigate to the HPCET 2026 application page. Click on One Time Registration (OTR) under the “Services” section.
- Click “Register →” and then “As Student”. New users must click “New User? Sign up for Citizen Login”.
- You will be redirected to the Him Access Portal. Choose the Aadhaar number option, provide eKYC consent, enter OTP, then provide your mobile number and email to generate a unique Him Access ID.
- Login “As Student” using your Him Access ID / registered mobile number or other available option.
- Update your profile in four tabs: Applicant Details, Contact Details, Qualifications (10th, 12th, graduation if applicable), and Upload Photo & Signature (JPG/JPEG/PNG, 60-100 KB).
- Click “Complete Profile” → Logout → Login again → navigate to “Courses List”.
- Under UG/PG list, click “Apply” against your desired course or combined course option (e.g., B.Tech & B.Pharmacy both, MBA & MCA, etc.).
- Fill the HPCET 2026 Application Form: select quota (AIQ / HPSQ / NRI / KM), category, minimum qualification, sub-category etc. Ensure all entries match your profile/qualification details.
- Tick the declaration checkbox, then click “Save Draft”. Check under “My Applications”, use “Edit Application” if corrections are needed, then click “Submit Application”. After submission, no further edits are allowed.
- Note down the Application Number (format: HPCET26XXXXXX) displayed on screen. Go to “My Applications” → click “₹ Pay XXXX” → Proceed to Payment and complete the fee payment via the payment gateway.

HPCET 2026 – Exam Pattern (Course-wise)
HPCET 2026 is conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode in English language. The exam pattern varies by course. There is negative marking in all courses. Refer to the course-wise patterns below:
1. B.Tech & B.Pharmacy (Allopathy) – Direct Entry
Duration: 3 Hours 15 Minutes | Marking: +4 for correct, −1 for wrong, 0 for unattempted. In Section B, if more than 30 questions are attempted, only the first 30 are evaluated.
2. B.Sc. (HM&CT) / BHMCT
Duration: 2 Hours | Marking: +1 for correct, −0.25 for wrong, 0 for unattempted.
3. MBA / MBA (T&HM) / MCA
Duration: 2 Hours | Marking: +4 for correct, −1 for wrong, 0 for unattempted.
4. M.Sc. Physics
Duration: 2 Hours | Marking: +1 for correct, −0.25 for wrong, 0 for unattempted.
5. M.Sc. Environmental Sciences

HPCET 2026 – Result & Counselling
The HPCET 2026 Result is tentatively expected by 21 May 2026 on the official HPTU website. After result declaration, candidates will need to apply separately for centralized counselling using a new online form (Prospectus Part-II: Admission Brochure 2026-27) which will be released in May 2026.
Admission to all courses is made on the basis of merit (rank/marks) in HPCET 2026 or applicable National Level Entrance Tests, subject to fulfillment of minimum educational qualification. Centralized counselling is tentatively scheduled for June 2026 and classes are expected to start from the last week of July or first week of August 2026.
HPCET 2026 – Exam Centres
Exam centres for HPCET 2026 vary by course. The University may add, change, or cancel centres depending on the number of applicants. Candidates should select their preferred centre carefully during form submission; centre change requests (if approved) attract a fee of ₹2000.
